Chinese President Xi Jinping today (30) presented the July 1 Medal, the highest honour of the Communist Party of China (CPC), to eight outstanding Party members during a ceremony held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, ahead of the CPC’s 105th founding anniversary.
Introduced in 2021 to mark the CPC’s centenary, the July 1 Medal is awarded to exemplary Party members in recognition of their outstanding contributions.
This year, eight model CPC members received the honour as part of the anniversary celebrations.
Addressing the gathering, Xi, who is also General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, extended greetings to Party members across the country and congratulated the medal recipients, outstanding Party workers and primary-level Party organisations.
