Illegal assets to face seizure
Legal proceedings have been initiated to confiscate illegal assets worth Rs. 772 million in favour of the State during the period up to now in 2026, Police Media Spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler said.
He made these remarks today (31) at a special media briefing held at the main operations office and media centre of the Ratama Ekata national programme.
During the briefing, updates were provided on the role of the Sri Lanka Police under the Ratama Ekata national programme, ongoing anti-narcotics operations, and the process of confiscating illegal assets belonging to drug traffickers.
The Police Media Spokesman further stated that legal action had been initiated in 2025 to confiscate illegal assets worth Rs. 1,549 million in favour of the State.
He added that the programme to identify assets acquired through drug trafficking and other illegal activities, and to confiscate them through legal proceedings in favour of the State, would continue without interruption.
