Pillayan’s petition to be heard in Jan. 2027

The Supreme Court today (July 30) ordered that the Fundamental Rights petition filed by former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, alias ‘Pillayan,’ challenging his arrest and detention, be taken up for hearing.

Accordingly, the petition has been fixed for hearing on Jan. 19, 2027.
