Suspect in Akuregoda lawyer couple murder brought to Sri Lanka from the Maldives

A suspect wanted by the Police in connection with the murder of a lawyer and his wife in Akuregoda has been arrested by Maldivian security authorities in the Maldives.

The suspect was brought back to Sri Lanka this afternoon (4 July).

He is accused of providing transport for the gunmen involved in the killings.

The suspect has been handed over to the Western Province South Crime Division for further investigations.
