Another 3-day dengue prevention programme from tomorrow

A 03-day dengue prevention programme will commence tomorrow (July 01) as part of efforts to curb the spread of the disease.

Director of the National Dengue Control Unit – Dr. Kapila Kannangara, said the programme will be carried out under the guidance of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government.

According to the National Dengue Control Unit, the number of dengue cases reported in the country has now exceeded 54,000, while 32 deaths have been recorded this year.

Dr. Kannangara said dengue continues to spread at a high-risk level across 12 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions in 06 districts.
