Sandeep Vanga Sparks Debate with IAS Officer Over Filmmaking vs. UPSC Challenge While Teasing ‘Spirit’
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has responded to recent criticism from IAS officer Vikas Divyakriti concerning his film “Animal.” Divyakriti had accused the film of promoting toxic behavior and compared it unfavorably to “12th Fail,” which he believes inspires society. Vanga defended his film, stating that filmmaking is more challenging than passing the UPSC exam.
According to Vanga, while becoming an IAS officer can be achieved through dedicated study and reading numerous books, filmmaking lacks a structured learning path. He emphasized that no teacher can truly teach someone how to be a filmmaker. Vanga expressed frustration over what he perceived as an unnecessary attack on his creative work, highlighting the unique challenges faced by filmmakers.
Amidst this controversy, Vanga is also working on his upcoming film “Spirit,” starring Prabhas. He has begun scripting the film and has set high expectations for its success. Vanga mentioned that for “Spirit” to surpass the success of “Baahubali,” it would need to collect ₹2000 crore at the box office. Despite acknowledging the difficulty of this target, he remains committed to creating an engaging and captivating film.
The debate between Vanga and Divyakriti has drawn significant public attention, with many individuals weighing in on the merits of their respective arguments. Vanga’s comments have ignited a broader discussion about the nature of art, creativity, and the societal impact of films.
As the conversation evolves, it remains to be seen how this clash of perspectives will influence public opinion and the reception of Vanga’s film “Animal.” The director’s passionate defense of his work underscores the complexities and challenges of the creative process, inviting audiences to consider the nuanced differences between artistic expression and societal expectations.
