Dress preschoolers in clothes protecting them from mosquitos – Minister
Minister of Children and Women affairs Saroja Savithri Paulraj, has urged parents to ensure preschool children wear suitable clothing that protects their arms and legs from mosquito bites as Sri Lanka continues to grapple with the rapid spread of Dengue.
The Minister also encouraged parents to use child-safe mosquito repellents where appropriate and to take every possible precaution to protect children from mosquito bites.
Minister Paulraj said this during a media briefing held at the Department of Government Information held today (July 13) to raise awareness about National Early Childhood Week which will be marked from July 14 – 20.
Earlier, the Minister of Education also granted permission for schools to allow students to wear clothing that provides better protection against mosquito bites.
