Emergency response plan in place ahead of scholarship & A/L exams
The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has activated emergency preparedness measures to minimise disruptions to the upcoming Grade 5 Scholarship Examination and G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in the case of possible adverse weather conditions.
The DMC said a special coordination desk will be set up at its operations room to monitor weather-related impacts on examination activities during August 6, 7 and 8.
The decision was taken following a special discussion held today (Aug. 05) between officials of the Department of Meteorology, the DMC and the Examinations Department.
The DMC had further noted that disaster response teams and boats have been placed on standby to assist students and examination officials in flood-affected areas if required.
The Grade 5 Scholarship Examination will be held on Aug. 09, while the 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination will commence from Aug. 10.
