Risk of Cyber Attack on Parliament
Sri Lanka’s Parliament faces a risk of a cyber attack on its digital systems, according to Parliament’s 2025 Annual Performance Report.
The report states that the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) conducted an assessment of Parliament’s information and cyber security during the year under review.
According to the Annual Performance Report, of the 56 areas examined during the assessment, 46 were found to present a high level of risk.
The report further notes that there is a risk of malicious activities such as unauthorised access to Parliament’s digital systems through the misuse of cyber technology, the theft of sensitive information, disruption of institutional operations, and the defacement of websites, thereby damaging the reputation of the institution.
Accordingly, the 2025 Annual Performance Report of the Parliament of Sri Lanka further states that the audit has observed that immediate attention
