Shiran Basik had learnt helicopter piloting in Dubai?
Investigations have revealed that detained large-scale drug trafficker Shiran Basik had undergone training in Dubai to fly helicopters.
Police stated that during questioning, Basik had also claimed that he owns 05 hotels along Marine Drive in Colombo.
The Central Criminal Investigation Bureau (CCIB) in Colombo is conducting further investigations into the suspect under a 72-hour detention order.
Shiran Basik, who had fled Sri Lanka and been hiding in Dubai, was arrested and subsequently deported to Sri Lanka.
He was brought back to the island on Aug. 14.
The 48-year-old suspect is a resident of Dehiwala.
