Early landslide warnings issued for several areas
The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued an early landslide warning for several areas.
The warning, issued at 9.00 am today (Aug. 04), will be valid for 24 hours.
The areas, as well as the complete report, are as follows :
Warning Level 3 – Evacuation (Red)
- Kandy district: Ganga Ihala Korale, Ududumbara and Pasbage Korale
- Kegalle district: Yatiyanthota
- Nuwara Eliya district: Ambagamuwa and Norwood
Warning Level 2 – Alert (Amber)
- Kandy district: Panvila, Medadumbara, Udapalatha, Doluwa and Delthota
- Kegalle district: Aranayaka, Deraniyagala, Dehiowita and Bulathkohupitiya
- Nuwara Eliya district: Thalawakele, Nuwara Eliya, Kotmale East and Kothmale West
- Ratnapura district: Ratnapura, Openayake and Imbulpe
Warning Level 1 – Watch (Yellow)
- Kegalle district: Kegalle
- Nuwara Eliya district: Hanguranketha
- Ratnapura district: Nivithigala and Kuruwita
