Extensive damage caused to Mahara Prison (Pics)

Inmates at Mahara Prison have caused extensive damage to a number of properties within the prison.

It is reported that throughout last night (1), a group of inmates clashed with the prison administration and made several attempts to escape from the prison, all of which were thwarted by the security forces.

During the incidents, they also set fire to administrative buildings and documents, causing extensive damage.

However, by this morning (2), the situation inside the prison had been brought completely under control with the assistance of prison officers and the security forces.
