Legal action against liquor companies evading taxes
The Attorney General has informed the Supreme Court today (July 20) that steps have been taken to institute legal proceedings in the District Court to recover outstanding taxes from liquor manufacturing companies that have defaulted on their tax obligations.
Additional Solicitor General, appearing on behalf of the Attorney General, made this submission when a Fundamental Rights petition seeking an order to recover unpaid taxes from defaulting liquor manufacturers was taken up before the Supreme Court today.
