Moratuwa Uni. closes over dengue spread
The University of Moratuwa has been temporarily closed following the spread of dengue among a group of students.
Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education – Madhura Seneviratne said the decision was taken yesterday (July 06) following consultations with health authorities.
The university administration said lectures for students would be conducted online during the closure period.
Academic activities at the University, which was closed for 02 weeks from yesterday, are scheduled to resume on July 21.
Earlier, the University of the Visual and Performing Arts in Colombo was also temporarily closed due to similar reasons.
