LPBOA to seek legal action if fare revision is not implemented

The annual bus fare revision should come into effect from tomorrow (July 01), according to the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA).

LPBOA President – Gemunu Wijeratne said that the National Transport Commission (NTC) has already been informed of the required fare adjustment under the annual bus fare revision policy.

However, he alleged that the NTC has not held discussions with private bus associations regarding the revision.

Wijeratne further warned that if the expected fare revision is not implemented, the association will seek legal action.

Reports indicate that the NTC has already submitted the fare revision proposal to the Cabinet.

The NTC stated that the revised bus fares will be implemented once Cabinet approval is granted.
