‘Chill Colombo’ at Port City fined for selling liquor sans licence
The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court has imposed a fine of Rs. 285,000 on a restaurant operating at the Port City Colombo Downtown Duty Free Mall for selling foreign liquor without a valid licence.
According to reports, officers of the Department of Excise raided the restaurant, identified as Chill Colombo, on June 21 following a tip-off.
During the raid, officers allegedly seized a stock of imported liquor bottles that were being sold without the required authorization and arrested the suspects involved.
According to reports, the restaurant is owned by Darshana Tharanga, the owner of Cafe Chill in Ella.
